J.T.Feldman,

What is considered the "eastern" approach to acid reflux treatment? If you would like to know more information about the treatments available here for acid reflux, you can read about them in the treatments database. There is also a very good resource for medication information located here.

Dr Todd Eisner answered some questions back in December and one of them asked about Papaya juice benefits for acid reflux. Here is his answer. Apparently Papaya juice has Papain in it which is beneficial for some folks suffering with acid reflux. Also, pineapple has enzymes that aid in digestion, and boiling chicory for a tea has soothing properties.

Hope this helps you. If you want to expound on the eastern theory, I am happy to see if there is any coordinating information.

Thanks and stay in touch!

What is eastern medicine.  I have heard that taking the megadoses of active cultures as in Heathly matron, it's supposed to help in decreasing stomach acid production.
