My husband has heartburn every day, but I think it may be more than just that. Tell me more, please.
I a, not a physician and cannot provide you with a diagnosis, but I do know the symptoms of reflux can vary in each person and can get better and worse each day. It is possible though that he may be suffering from something else because the symptoms of heart disease, gall bladder problems, gastritis, hiatal hernia, etc. are very similar to those of reflux. Because it's been going on everyday (I am assuming for a while), he should be checked by a doctor to be thoroughly diagnosed. It is definitely better safe than sorry.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and heartburn - Highlights
If he had heartburn long time ago and never got treated with Nexium or any drug to stop the acid, it could become chronic. If he does not get it treated, it would hurt his eating and swallowing as it would cause Barrett's esophagus. With this condition, one would have to take the drug for heartburn to make sure there is no more heartburn to damage the area. It could also cause cancer if Barrett's esophagus gets worse and etc.
Heartburn is tricky, so you need to make him see a specialist to diagnose this properly. It is better to be serious about it or it would get worse later on.
Chest pain or short asthma or anything funny between the stomach and throat should be checked. I never knew about it until I got it myself this year and heard about other people, A bad heartburn is not comfortable at all and the drug on the counter such as tums cannot cure it. Drinking lots of water helps heartburn too.
