Hello! I am glad you are being careful about the medication. There is some concern in the medical community about whether reflux medications are overprescribed for infants. The doctor is counting on you to report any problems with the medication or changes to his reflux. If he is better, that is good. You can tell the doctor that the increased dose is working. If his symptoms are the same or worse, ask the doctor what to do next. In any case, you should ask the doctor how long he will need to be on the medication and when to return for a follow up appointment. It does make sense to use the lowest dose that is effective. If the medication is not needed, you and the doctor will decide it is time to stop taking it.   Jan Gambino The Reflux Mom
