I have had problems with my voice for months. My doctor thinks it is caused by acid reflux and she has prescribed Protonix. I have also cut out most caffeine products and spicy foods. It has been about a month and a half since I started the medicine and I am still having problems with the voice. How long does it take to get the full effect of the medicine?

I have just come across your question.  I have been suffering withmyh voice for 10 years, and my Doctor has told me it is stress.  I have lost 2 jobs through it.  I suffer from acid reflux and have taken different types of tablets.  I tried a wheat free diet, and found my voice came back as normal.

The only trouble is I love chocolate and get very tempted with it, but as soon as I eat it my voice goes very hoarse and trembly.

Try this and please let meknow if it has helped
