Double up the prilosec by taking one in the morning 1/2 hour before eating and one about 8 hours later.  At bedtime take one Zantac.  The Zantac must be spaced away from the Prilosec or it will inhibit adsorption of the Prilosec.  If not better in two weeks ask to add carafate suspension to this regimen and also see if you have significant sinus drainage or infection.  Do not eat after about 7:30 at night and elevate the head of your bed using two bricks under each bedpost.  NO caffeine, expecially no expresso based drinks limit Soda. NO alcohol. Limit spicy foods.  Limit fried or fatty foods.  I.e. eat a careful mediterranian diet.  Be very care about milk and milk products.  They may seem to be soothing but cause a reflux kick back.  Eat more frequent but smaller meals.  Some Proton pump inhibiters work better than others for specific individuals so you may need to try acifex, protonix, prevacid or others.  If Prilosec does not work for you skip Nexium because it is chemically almost identical.  Healing takes a very long time and it takes very little to disrupt it.
