I take 30 mg of prevacid twice a day but still have symptons. What is my next step?

I take 30 mg of prevacid twice a day but still have symptons.  Cough, nausea and burning pain.  Should I be concerned?  I have had Acid Reflux Disease for several years now.  I am most concerned about the burning pain causing damage to my esophogus.

Yes, you should be concerned that despite a high level of Prevacid you are still having symptoms. You should go back to the doctor and discuss further options. You may need to have an endoscopy to look at the integrity of your stomach/esophageal lining before a game plan can be made. It is also possible that your doctor may want to look at trying another one of the proton pump inhibitors.

Good Luck - Stephanie
