Hi Marcella,   I've suffered with reflux and an irritated esophacous. I have experienced every symtom associated with this condition for years. I'm pretty much free of pain and discomfort for months now. I'm a singer and I am actually able to belt out a tune without upper stomach pain and shortness of breath. Of course I watch my diet and I have invested much time doing research as well as I sought treatmernt by a wonderful nutritionist/ biochemist. For one year now I've been on a program consisting of all natural supplements, and digestive enzymes. I feell like a new person! I do not, nor have I ever taken any medications perscribed by my physician. I believe these drugs mask the symtoms and are detrimental in the big picture. So...with this said even if you're not in a position do do all of the above there are still many options for you to consider starting out with that I'm sure will bring you some significant relief and/or at least help get you on the path to wellness in a safe and positive manner.  Here are a few suggestions for you: 1st-Concerning your Lifestyle...Avoid stress as much as possible (especially around mealtimes!!) Try taking some Gental Yoga or Gentle Stretching classes that focus on body consciencness and deep breathing. Try to walk a bit everyday especially after meals. Drinks plenty of sping water (in between meals only). 2- Supplements   Herbal Aloe Force, by Herbal Answers, Inc  www.herbalanswers.com is wonderfully healing for digestive system...and promotes optimal functionong and health for Digestive Gastrointestinal Elimination/Purification and Detox (liver, skin & colon), Gastrointestinal comfort etc...  You can find it in legit health food stores or order it online. I drink about 2 oz every morning and try to repeat a couple times during the day. Also a heaping teaspoon of  Manuka Honey (Active) in a cup of Ginger Tea (preferably brewed from fresh ginger root) is extremely soothing before bedtime. And last but not least DGL (Deglycerized Liorcice) by Enzymatics provides soothing relief for; stomach Lining and Digestive Tract. Chewing 2 of these tablets about 20 minutes before meals helps sooth the digestion tremendously.  Good Luck!   I wish you Well-ness!    Sandra
