Q: Woke up this morning and blew blood out of my nose...quit a bit. Is this part of Gerd?

I have had a cold the past couple of weeks and also have had acid reflux in the past.  I recently woke up and blew my nose and it had a lot of blood come out.  I also notice that one side of my throat hurt...is this part of acid reflux?

This is a hard question because all of the things could be unrelated or they could all be interrelated. The acid could cause the cold symptoms. The cold symptoms could worsen the reflux issues. The cold, dry winter air (assuming that's what you have right now) makes nose bleeds more likely as does the cold. The cold could cause the sore throat but so could the reflux which might be worse because of the cold. It's a very tricky maze.

So, what this all basically means is that if it persists or worsens, it's time to see your doctor to help you navigate the maze.
