My indisgestion/gerd is worse in the a.m. and sometimes the prevacid capsules seems to take a long time to go down. I was wondering if taking it a bedtime would be helpful or harmful?

Hi Lizacton,
Thank you for your question. If swallowing the capsule is the problem, you do have the option to open the capsule and sprinkle the contents in a small amount of applesauce, cottage cheese, yogurt, or pudding. You could also dump the contents of the capsule in a small amount of apple juice, orange juice, or tomato juice and drink immediately. If you're using the juice method, be sure the drink the juice, then pour a little more juice in the cup and drink that to make sure you get all the medication out of the cup.
On the other hand, if swallowing ANYTHING in the morning is the problem, you could take the Prevacid at night. The medication is best absorbed on an empty stomach, so be sure to take it at least 2-3 hours after your last meal of the day. However, the manufacturer recommends taking it in the morning before eating anything, so that's probably your best bet. I hope this helps!
Best of luck,
Casey
