I have a sharp pain under my ribs on the left hand side (upper part of the stomach) as soon as I eat

I have been suffering from NERD for a long time. Basically my esophagus is open because the ring muscle does not close properly. This pain have been more pronounced for a few moths now. The gastroenterologist has no idea what it is. I am going to have an endoscopy...
