I am a 47 year old man and have been diognosed with acid reflus and I take 20mg previcid dailey in the last two weeks I have been waking up literlly choking to death and gasping for air and last night was the worst I ended up on the floor gasping and choking from it going down my air tube p[lease help

Hello Dan,
You might want to try elevating your head for sleep. Try adding a few pillows or purchase a wedge. Insurance may pay for the wedge if the doctor prescribes it.
Make sure the foods you eat are not triggering night symptoms. If you cannot get a good nights sleep, check in with the doctor and see what other options are available. Sometimes a higher dose of medication is needed or a combination of prescription and over the counter medications.

I am 59 and last night i did the same thing, I woke up from a sound sleep
I could not breathe. I could feel a burning in my throat i gasp for a few min. before i could breath. it was very scary. I have not read these symptons as being acid reflux
yours is the first. i am going to the Dr. next week.
It makes you scared to go to bed.

Hi Dan I am 58 male and suffer with the same thing it is very frightning the symptons returned after 2 years for no reason is there no cure other than sleeping in the upright position.
