Q: does the tongue also feel numb, temporarily, while you deal with heartburn and coughing symptoms?

I have gerd and am taking aciphex now. Wake up periodically during the night with acid in my throat and like last night I took 3 rolaids and drank 1/2 c milk to coat my stomach. The milk seemed to cause some conjestion as well.I started coughing to clear my throat, this went on for about 50 minutes. It finally calmed after taking 2 more rolaids and I was able to get back to sleep. In the mist of my coughing spell, my tongue seemed to be somewhat numb is this part of gerd as well? I would appreciate some help in settling my curious thoughts of this matter.

         Thank you, Robana
