Q: discomfort in jaw, neck & chest, very seldom, short lived. loosening bras helps. Gerd?

A few times, maybe 5 times in past year or more, I have developed a discomfort in jaw, neck and breastbone area.  It is always when I have been sitting for a while, and it only lasts a few minutes.  The past two times I tried loosening my bra and it took care of it.  There is no other symptoms that I thought would occur with GERD.  Does this sound like GERD to you?  My Dr. didn't seem concerned, but I just heard about 'silent heart attack' and it made me wonder.  Thank you.

Thanks for your question. While discomfort in the breastbone area is listed among the common GERD symptoms, jaw and neck pain are not. You should continue to work with your doctor in figuring out what exactly is causing these symptoms. For more information, you may want to try using this symptom checker. I hope this helps.
