Hello!

Reflux that is causing complications such as irritating the lungs is called Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease or GERD. The pediatrician or a pediatric Gastroenterologist will develop a treatment plan that often includes: diet, positioning and medication. My daughter had breathing problems from reflux and a Pediatric Pulmonologist was a very important member of her care team.
