I read an article that said that Nexium increases the serum creatinine. Is that true?

I've been taking Nexium for about a year for GERD.  Last month I found out I have stage 3 kidney failure.  I saw an article on the computer [which I can't find now] by a doctor that said taking Nexium can increase your serum creatinine.  If that's true, should I be taking something in place of the Nexium?
