Hi,   I have been living with unexplainable dizziness for the last 18 years! More recently, in the last year or so, I've noticed that as soon as I am about to fall asleep, I get jolted by a sudden very short dizzy spell....a bit like when you are falling in a dream but wake up before you hit the floor. Shortness of breath and racing heart follow. This happens at least 3 or 4 times before I eventually fall asleep.   Throughout the day, I feel as if I am constantly in motion, even when I am at rest. It does ease slightly when I have emptied my bowels so it could be related to the digestive system.   I have had CT scans and a multislice scan (similar to an MRI) on my brain but nothing has come up. Vertigo has been ruled out as I get dizzy without any movement so it can't be related to the inner ear.   I am 37 and have a 6 year old so I sympathise. It worries me that the symptoms may render me unable to look after my son properly.   I wish I could help but after all the research and things I have tried - nothing seems to work! All I can say is that I know how you feel!
