Most of what I've read says it's best to take it the same time each day but of course for most of us it will vary somewhat. I know that if I take it later than usual, I will start to feel discomfort so if I take it earlier the next night I may feel it more than usual if I go back to my "normal" time. I've also read that morning is best but for me and my schedule, evening is best because that is when my schedule is most consistent.

The timing of PPIs such as esomeprazole (Nexium) isn't critical.

The drug is not an instant worker.
