Q: Can Nexium cause poor absorbtion of iron?
Thanks for your question. According to Nexium's drug information page, "Esomeprazole [Nexium] can decrease the effectiveness of certain drugs which require stomach acid in order to be absorbed." Iron supplements are listed as one of those drugs. Hopefully this answers your question.
