Surgery for acid reflux should be the very last resort. Reflux is often just a symptom, and until an astute healthcare professional can get to the root cause of the reflux, I would be cautious about entertaining the idea of surgery. Your next step may be a visit to an ear, nose and throat doctor. Make sure he or she has experience with acid reflux, and of course has the patience and interest to spend the time that it may take to get a difficult problem under control.
