Q: unexplained weight gain

I am 16 years old and i model. up until recently i was perfectly skinny. this month alone though i have gained 6 pounds. why?

Hello Mfortune,

 

Because you are only 16 years old, the best thing for you to do is see your doctor for a check up. Your body is still developing and growing and your metabolism is still forming. Could be that you are just working on a growth spurt, could be water weight, could be any number of things. You can check your symptoms here in the assessment guide and then you will have a basis for asking questions of your doctor.

Look up any medications you are taking for side-effects.  Talk to your doctor about alternatives.  And don't believe that only 1% of people are effected with the weight gain side effect.
