Hello!
Constant crying in a baby has many causes. First, make sure it is colic and not something else. You might need to visit the doctor every week to check on weight gain, overall health and symptoms.
Some of the same home treatments used for reflux often help a baby with colic.
Swaddling, swings, slings and carriers as well as a ride in the car might help, at least for a few moments.
Burping and holding upright after a feeding aren't specific treatments for colic but might help if there is some tummy upset too.
I just posted a blog about Calming the Baby by the book about Dr. Karp's soothing methods for calming a baby. Many parents have had success with his methods. If you are too busy to read his book, try a DVD with a demo of his calming methods.
Let me know what you have tried and what the doctor is saying at this point. also, what is your baby's diet like right now?
Hang in there.
