Q: would coughing be caused by acid reflux?Coughing comes to me while sitting and relaxing,

I am on Nexium for the past few years, no problems or issues, the problem is out of the blues i have to clear my throat by coughing pretty bad, to the point i have to vomit. This sensation comes while I am relaxing, ot just before i get a goodnight sleep, i never connected Gerd with the cough neither my Dr which he thinks probably related to allergy.

Actually, I just did a sharepost on this. We're getting a lot of questions lately about coughing and throat clearing and it is in fact one of the more subtle symptoms of reflux. You can read more about it here:

So it could be allergies but it could also be related to GERD.

Best of luck - Stephanie
