I just had an endoscopy and waiting to hear what my issue is. I have recently experienced swallowing issues and have been on Nexium for a year and a half and the doctors have told me it is a safe drug to be on. It is also given to allergy patients on a regular basis to prevent reflux. I would go to the Mayo clinic site about Barretts. They are number 1 in gastrointestinal disorders and also have many trials in regard to Barretts. There are a few options to treat this problem, but I would read up on it to make sure you are educated on Barretts.
