My son has cried, screamed, grunted and strained since he was 2 days old (he is now 5 1/2 months). The hospital told me to use Gripe Water, it was gas. The Gripe Water made him sick. GP thought it was Pyloric Stenosis but the hospital wouldn't do the tests because he is too young. Went to 2 Pediatricians and he was diagnosed with a Milk Protein Allergy and Acid Reflux. Using Nutramigen & Ranitidine and even they don't help, in fact he gets much worse after I give him the Ranitidine. No matter what I do he will not stop the crying, screaming, grunting and straining and believe me I have tried EVERYTHING and have bought EVERYTHNG that I thought would help. As a mom I know it is something else and not what the docs say. I just wish someone would give me an answer. I have since stopped anything from going into his little body except formula because even with one single dose of Tempra (needles) he became so inconsolable it was just awful. I am at a loss and don't know what to do for him anymore not to mention I am slowly losing my mind. Constipation was also ruled out.

Have you tried giving him apple juice, water down if it's not for infants? Or a chiropractor should be able to help you also. Smile

I have pretty much tried everything, even the juice which also had a bad reaction with my son. I also tried solids and that didn't work either so I stopped. I never tried the cereal because of the milk allergy and I can't find one that doesn't contain milk. It seems like the only thing he can stomach is the formula which really isn't helping either because he still screams, cries, grunts and strains but at least he doesn't refuse it like he used to with the other formulas....I have never heard of a chiropractor helping this situation and will definately look into it, thanks..Laughing.

Hello! I hear your frustration. I have been there too. It took a really long time to get a diagnosis for my daughter and we both struggled until then. It was disappointing that the doctors could not figure out the problem and how to make her life better. Finally, I found a really wonderful pediatric gastroenterologist (my second try) and our situation improved after that.

I encourage you to find a pediatrician and a gastroenterologist to diagnose the problem and figure out a way to reduce the pain and discomfort. Your description makes me wonder if he has food allergies or intolerances since he seems to be sensitive to medications. it may be that he has Milk Soy Protein Intolerance and something else. Keep searching and don't give up.

Keep in touch and use this site for information and to vent. That is why we are here!
