Hello Karen,

It is important to work closely with the doctor to sort out the symptoms and decide on a diagnosis. Sometimes it is best to ask for a sick visit just to discuss the symptoms. Certainly Zantac is a medication used to treat GERD. I wonder if the doctor is thinking your grandson has reflux?

Crying and fussing is often associated with colic. On the other hand, these symptoms are often associated with GERD. The doctor also will rule out Milk Soy Protein Intolerance, food allergies and intolerances, constipation and infection.

Keep in mind that it may take a few visits to the doctor and some trials of treatments to come up with a plan.

Let me know if you need further assistance.
