I have read what "NOT" to eat or do--- such as do "NOT" eat anything tomato based, chocolate, caffiene, or fried fatty foods, keep on a low-fat diet. I have been SICK since Easter wknd. I am eating only boiled, poached or steamed foods, and still have a bad time of it. I've taking three different drugs so far since my diagnosis!
Do not drink alcohol, do not smoke, elevate your bed at night. Do NOT eat before going to bed 2-3 hrs. before.
Do NOT lay down after eating your meals. Do NOT eat a lot. Eat smaller portions. Try not to eat meat or food harder to digest. I found that APPLE in the morning is good, natural acid that helps me. Also drinking hot water with a slice of fresh ginger root helps some too. And I'm drinking herbal green tea/weak. Also DO NOT DRINK ORANGE JUICE - keep away from citrus and tomato acids.
Hope something I've said will be helpful for you. I'm going to see a G.I. specialist tomorrow!
Good luck with your Gerd and hernia* : )
