Dear Debbie,

It has to be discouraging to have your symptoms return after having multiple surgeries. It might be time to get a second opinion. You might need to do some networking to find a doctor with a special interest in GERD and related conditions (I am not sure if you had the gastrectomy for GERD or another condition). You might need to travel a bit to get to a regional/city hospital or a teaching hospital.

Your insurance company may be able to assign you a case manager to help you navigate the options available through your insurance company.

I will email you privately in case you want to give me more background information about your condition.

Take care,

Jan Gambino
