Q: Do bananas help acid reflux?

Hi Kelli,

 

Bananas are reported to be a home-remedy for heartburn, but I could not find any significant evidence confirming their usefulness in treating acid reflux. Bananas may be worth a try and are not known to make symptoms of acid reflux worse. Fruits that are known to trigger reflux include citrus fruits like lemons, oranges, grapefruits, etc... Ultimately, bananas will not worsen your symptoms but you should not depend on bananas to help treat your symptoms.
