Q: Can GERD cause you to perspire heavily? Not just night sweats, but all day long - off and of?

Perspiring is not a known symptom of GERD. Sweating can come as a stress reaction and it is known to be a side effect of some medications.

 

I did find a link that offers more information about excessive sweating and the possible causes - it says most of the time the cause is harmless but it can be due to thyroid problems, diabetes or infection.

 

So, assuming this is a new symptom, it would be a good time to see your doctor to determine what's going on.
