I have a three month old infant who just had his two month vaccines. He has had diarrhea for ten days and his acid reflux is much worse since the vaccines. I read on the info. sheet they gave me from the peditricians office that babies with ongoing digestive problems shouldn't get the rotavirus vaccine. Now I am wondering if this is his problem and what I can do to help him.

Ten days is a long time for a little one to have diarrhea. It is best to call the doctor for advice on how to treat the symptoms.
I do not know of any specific recommendations for the rotovirus vaccine and babies with GERD. There is some general information about babies using caution with giving the vaccine to a baby with suppressed immunity or an acute illness-meaning the baby has a stomach virus or diarrhea illness at the time of the vaccine. Be sure to mention your concern to the doctor and let us know what you find out.

Hi Jan,
I had my baby to the doctor on Monday. He was not concerned about the diarrhea at this point. He said with all of the baby's digestive problems it may take him longer to get over this. This was not my regular doctor and I was not satisfied with his answer, so that is why I got online the other night and was asking questions. I have an appt. Monday the tenth with a pediatric GI doctor in Pittsburgh, PA. I am hoping to get some answers then.
