Q: Sometimes when I drink water it seems to stop halfway down and then bubbles or foam comes up as the water goes down?

Sounds like you may be gulping down air. Then, as the water descends, it meets air ascending? Try sipping slowly.

 

Is it only water you have difficulty swallowing or is there a problem with other foods as well? That could mean a stricture that would need to be investigated.

 

Do you have difficulty swallowing generally? You may have poor peristalsis. You could try taking Motillium (generic name Domperidone) or Maxolon (generic name Metoclopramide) half an hour before eating.
