please advise

Nalina
05/26/08

good day -

my problem started around last year September. About 4-5 times weekly, i get very bloated - so bloated that i literally lok pregnant, the pressure is so intense that it presses against my bladder with a continuous urge to wee. I visted a specialist in March this year and a biopsy was performed of my bladder, everything was normal, according to the results. I have learnt to deal with the bloating, then came my second symptom, about a month ago - i broke up in an allergy, my face, neck, chest and arms, i was given an allergy injection a week later and the allergy went away, a week later i developed chest pains, continuos, but mild.... I seeked medical advise and was put onto an antibiotic, which never worked, I went into the doctors rooms again, this time an ECG was done, this was clear. I recently started developed severe head acres that starts at the front of my head then leads to the back, i suffer with mild nausea and when i eat and then directly drink water/juice or any other liquids i immediately throw up.

My bloating still exists along side all if the above symptoms that i developed over the months.

Does anyone know what i may have?

Its really scary.

Your advise is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Nalina,

I understand why you are scared. It's very disheartening to keep having symptoms and not receive any answers.

I would recommend going back to your doctor, or seeing a new doctor. But before you go, try keeping a daily journal of what you eat and how you feel after eating. Track your symptoms - mark how many times you go to the bathroom, when you get a headache, when you start to feel bloated, if/when you throw up. Be very specific. The diary may clue your doctor in to something that he or she missed before. The diary may also help you recognize and eliminate foods in your diet that are making your symptoms worse.

You can also try answering the questions in our "intestinal gas and bloating" guide. At the end of the assessment, the guide may help determine the cause of your symptoms.

The medication that causes these side effects for me is over the counter Pepcid AC. I take one, and the first day it's fine. The next day my ankles and abdomen swell, I get bloating, and I have to urinate every hour all night long, so cannot sleep. Can't even make it to the grocery store and back very easily in the daytime. But if you're not taking that it wouldn't be related to the medicine.
