Q: Small hiatal hernia and gerd in 53 years old male weighing 120 lbs

I have a small hiatal hernia and GERD. I am 53 years old male weighing 120 lbs. Barium study revealed hernia. I am taking 40 mgm of Omeprazole bid to control the symptoms. I am taking all precautions, diet and  made lifestyle changes. There are lot of side effects such as loose motions, back pain. I don't want to take lifelong medications and take all precautions. What kind of surgery will help.I guess the surgeon will reduce the hernia and repair the diaphram. Is it necessary to do wrap? Can the the stomach be anchored so that recurrence of hernia does not take place. Please give details of laparoscopic surgical procedure.
