Yes, I have this problem. This is the atypical symptoms of acid reflux or gerd. I hardly ever have heartburn. I'd rather have heartburn than that lump feeling. It makes me nervous and I start paying to much attention to my breathing and then I have anxiety attacks. It's so rediculious. You should have your doctor check it out though if it is constant, but when I reflux this is the symptom I get. If you take over the counter medication you might need precription strenght.
It will drive you crazy! I am taking a low dose tranquilizer to help keep my stress level down. I hate taking any drugs, but I hate these attacks even worse. Go to your doctor and have an upper GI done so that you really know this is the problem and not guess at it. This test is easy. You just drink one small glass of good tasting thick stuff along with a small amount of soda. Then they take x-rays right then and they can tell if you are refluxing. Good Luck!!

Tracy, I get this once in awhile and I obcess over it too. That is how I ended up at this question/article. I start thinking the worse and get all worked up which really just causes a train reaction! It usually lasts a couple of days and goes away. I keep telling myself that until it's gone..lol..I need to calm down because the stress can just aggravate it. Glad to come accross this. Take care.
