could be acid-reflux, your body produces salty saliva to control the acid reflux during the day, but at night it can act up when your asleep. It can also be a postnasal drip from allergies or infection or inflamation in the nose. Could be excessive tear production draining through your sinus passages. Or could be a brain tumor that is putting your sense of taste out of wack.
