I just started experiencing something similar.  Eating or drinking anything causes a burning in my mouth and throat --- like when it extra spicy food. Between meals, it subsides.  Drinking water is not a problem.No other stomach or chest pain.And it has come on rather suddenly, not gradual. Tagment and Tums seem to do nothing.
