Q: my chest hurts and feels like something is caught there

I have been having some chest discomfort sometimes it is pain. Mainly happens at night but not only when i lay down sometimes just sitting watching tv. Feels like there is something caught in my chest and lower throat. When I breathe it feels restricted or like someone is squeezing my esophogaus. Sometimes it feels like my heart "flutters" or "flops"

It doesn't go away when i drink fluids but does seem to ease up a little when i eat. I don't want to go to the E.R and pay all that money for them to say acid reflux, but I don't want to sit here and thikn it is acid reflux and it be more serious either what should I do?

Check your blood pressure or see if is there any anxiety associated with your discomfort, if you have fibromalgia try to see if reumathism is associated.

i have the same thing, its is exactly whatyour saying. usually it goes away with some regular heartburn medication. but i agree with you; it can be really bothering sometimes, yet, not an ER sort of thing. just try the heartburn med. and see how it goes.
