Hello,

Medication is one of several treatments for GERD: positioning/lifestyle changes, diet, losing weight if overweight, avoiding smoke and alcohol are also important treatments. If the medication is not working, it is time to head back to the doctor. Maybe testing is needed to find out why you are gagging and continue to have severe reflux while on reflux medication.

Been there, done that. I started taking baking soda, with small amount of vinegar to neutralize the gas. google the recipe. I eventually had a Nissen Fundoplication done. See a surgeon with specific skills in this area. Please make sure he has done at least 200 or more of these surgeries.

lots of tests so be patient if you go this route
