My husband has used prilosec otc continually for more than 3 years. What are the long term effects?

Thanks for your question. According to the Prilosec information sheet, long-term use of Prilosec "can cause severe stomach inflammation." However, your husband should ask his doctor about this or any other potential side effects he may have or be concerned about getting. Only a doctor can fully explain what potential effects a drug may have.
