told me everything was fine, no redness, swelling, or irratation, vocal cords are fine, said I had acid reflux ( when I had no symptoms of acid reflux or heartburn) and to take prilosec (20mg) for 2-3 weeks, proceeded to get worse voice wise, went to a presciption form (40mg) voice got a little better, am now done with prescription voice has good days and bad days, but now I am suffering from severe heartburn ( when I had no heartburn before) no matter what I eat or how little, including water! My question,"Can taking acid reflux medicine cause acid reflux or heartburn when not having it before?"
Q: I've suffered from a hoarse or no voice for 3 months before going to an ear nose and throat doctor

Oh my. Time to check in with the doctor about this. Maybe someone else reading this will have some advice.

I am currently having the same trouble, been hoarse for 6 months, ENT says acid reflux, nasal scope was fine, no lumps or growths, have no other symptoms of acid reflux. Been on Nexuim for 6 weeks, no change, now will see a new dr in October, so tired of this, but nice to know I am not the only one. My sister says stay away from dairy and pop, I do.
