I am a 45 year old male. I had similar symptoms when I was 20. I graduated college at 119 pounds since the stomach problems made me feel like I did not want to eat. Stomach problems have continued. Signs are feeling bloated after eating, worse when I
lie down and it's hard to get to sleep. One night after eating popcorn at the movies, I felt like I was going to die. It hurt so much. It also doesn't help when my mind also thinks about it and causes it to hurt. Sometimes at night I would wake up choking on food or liquids that would come up at night. I also will twitch my stomach or shake my stomach trying to get out the gas or bloated feeling. Anyway, I had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago and the DRUGS did a number on my stomach. It hurts like it did many years ago. Each day (with Prilosec) gets a little better but not much. I have only been on the
prilosec for 2 days. A cough (which I only remember when my stomach was really bad) is present and it always makes me feel like I am short of breath, especially when I am sitting. It was not this bad before the surgery. I can get very anxious about this since
it has pretty much been a part of my life. While recently being checked over by my doctor, my pulse ox was 100, and they checked my lungs and there was no sign of any problem. I still use the spriometry that they gave me after my surgery. I always max it out. Also, one other thing is that this round of GERD, It seems like my stomach is always burning and producing heartburn. HELP anyone?
