Hi Pammela,   Thank you for your question! There are several types of medication used to treat acid reflux. Medications belonging to the class known as PPIs (including Nexium, Aciphex, Prevacid, Protonix) have been linked to weight changes, though that side effect is reported as occurring in less than 1% of patients. The medication class known as H2 blockers (including Zantac, Tagamet, Pepcid, and Axid) are not assicated with weight change. However, several of the H2 blockers (Zantac and Tagamet) interact with a lot of other medications, so I would recommend checking with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medications.   Best of luck!
