Q: Does having acid reflux make you more prone to delayed gastric emptying?

My 11-year-old daughter has acid reflux and takes Nexium, Pepcid and Erythromicin. After suffering from a chest cold a month ago, she has had constant nausea, bloating, vomiting and complains she is too full to eat. She has lost weight and has had to temporarily quit the swim team. Her GI doctor wants her to have a gastric emptying test. I am concerned that she may have developed a more serious medical condition. Are reflux and delayed gastric emptying related? How can I help my daughter to regain her health?
