Q: is there any life risk in umbilical hernia?
The reference I found says there is rarely significant risk with umbilical hernia. I know many children with whom I work have them for years. Eventually if they don't go away they will surgurically repair them. My Dad also has one that they do not intend to do surgery on as it is more of an eyesore than problematic.
