Q: Can Acid Reflux also cause me to break out in a hot sweat?

I recently had a couple of episodes where I didn't feel well, then broke out in a major hot sweat.  I went to the emergency room and was checked out for heart conditions which everything checked out ok.  I told the Dr. about having heartburn recently and he prescribed Prilosec.  I have been taking it, but still get this feeling of naseau, hot sweats and dizziness, feel like passing out.  Could this really be signs of acid reflux?

Kathy, I am glad you went to the emergency room to rule out a serious heart condition or some other cause for the symptoms. It certainly makes sense to try a trial of Prilosec to see if that was causing the heartburn and the sweats. Just be sure to check in with your primary care doctor for follow up. You might need some further testing such as blood work, blood pressure check, etc to get to the bottom of this.
