I take Humira and Methotrexate for the RA. The hernia is a big one and I don't think I can forego the Surgery. I am afraid that the RA and the medicines I take will make recovery longer or surery more complicated. Does anyone have any answers?

Anytime you have something other than the condition you are being treated for you are a higher risk of complication. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a significant risk. The best way to combat this risk is to make sure you tell all of your doctors and the anesthesiologist what medications you are taking and give them information about your medical history.List out everything you take even over the counter medications. You will likely go in for a pre-operative assessment with your primary care doctor as well as at the surgeons. It's good to take a list of your medications, medical history as well as any questions and concerns you have. By having a list it'll be easier to remember everything you need asked.
Best of Luck - Stephanie
