Hi TT_26,   Online resources are not a substitute for the advice of your doctor. The sources you find online are great for helping you ask all the right questions of your doctor. That being said, I am not sure why the smells would trigger your pain, other than maybe you are experiencing a little anxiety around the smells because you perceive them as a trigger for the pain. What you are describing sounds like it could be related to irritable bowel syndrome or extreme bouts with gas. Here is some useful information about IBS. You can read symptoms, causes and tips for dealing with IBS here. As always, you should see a doctor for professional diagnosis and treatment. This guide will give you information that will help you ask the right questions of your doctor.   Hope this helps a bit. Take care and stay in touch, let us know how you are doing!Vicki M
