Q: Can I have acid reflux all day , everyday?

Since I was a teenager I have suffered from acid reflux . It dosen't matter what I eat , how often or how little I eat , It always seems to be plaguing me . I don't vomit from it , I have a serious fear of vomiting so I do what ever I can to make sure that dosen't happen . I took the prolosac OTC when I was 20 years old and it seemed to make me feel like my throat was constricting , as if I was gagging. I am afriad to take it again now that I'm 27 because of that horrible feeling. I take TUMS on a daily basis and although they work for a little while I still get no relief! I don't know what to do about this condition anymore... I have even looked to herbal substitutes , and the same is true for them except when I tryed the apple cider vinager (that was terrible). If anyone can PLEASE give me some suggestions that would be greatley appriciated . Thank you for reading this

Thanks for your question. However, the best person to answer it would be your doctor. It seems like you have tried a lot of over-the-counter and home remedies. Your doctor would be able to give you better insight as to what the cause of acid reflux could be in your case. He or she could also then fingure out the best way to treat it. Many people somewhat alter their diet and lifestyle to help with acid reflux, but only your doctor can tell you which of these changes may be right for you.
