Q: Can drinking a lot of grapefruit juice cause acid reflux

I have  a severe sore throat (not tonsils) and my doctor has prescribed Omeprazole for acid reflux although he was less than sure. Around 3 weeks ago I started drinking 2 - 3 glasses of grapefruit juice a day before meals as a diet tip ... could this be the cause?

Hi,

Any type of citric fruit will cause heart burn. Go to Dr.Gourtmet.com and get a list of foods to avoid, of course most of them are things I do eat and love. I will sacrifice to keep my Barretts from turning to cancer. I have lost everyone in my family to cancer including my son. I eat low fat meals any way, but now I have to eliminate the food that are very low fat but bad for GERD. Do a lot of searching on the net to get meal answers. Good luck. Susan
