can acid refux be controled by a the drug called Prilosec this drug was giving to me by my famly doctor.
He sad it might work is he right ?

Thank you for your question. There are several types or classes of medications used to treat acid reflux. Prilosec is one of the more common medications used to treat acid reflux. It used to be available by prescription only, but is now available in an over-the-counter formulation. Prilosec is a proton-pump inhibitor, which means that it works by limiting the amount of acid that the stomach produces. The reduced acid will usually lead to fewer acid reflux symptoms.
